The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Headquarters Office in Plano, TX was thrilled to donate 324 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano, TX.
“Last fall, I had the ability to get a group together to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an incredible experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go beyond collecting food – they are a crucial part of this community.”
Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to honor her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent her younger years wondering if and where she would receive her next meal. In addition to providing meals to families in need, Minnie’s also holds classes to teach families how to utilize the food they get to create healthy, long-lasting meals. They also offer resume aid along with budgeting and job classes to help people get back on their feet.
Since the families receive approximately 50 pounds of food to get them through the month, Service Experts was able to provide meals for six families for the month.
“Each member of the team was so thrilled that we had this food drive for Minnie’s Food Pantry, and they even showed our group their amazing facility,” Wilson said.
